I have received countless enquiries in regard classic ships and ex liners that are still operating as cruise ships. We are indeed fortunate that it is still possible to go and sail on a genuine classic passenger ship. However, we should note that many ships have gone due to the new SOLAS (Safety Of Life At Sea) regulations which comes into effect in 2010. However, there are some immaculately maintained and fully upgraded ships that will continue to serve and this special feature will cover a number of these ships. All ships listed on the feature will have additional available on ssMaritime for their history, as well as on Cruise-Australia where you can discover more them in their current guise.
Thus, as they are still sailing, why not go and
book a Classic Ocean Voyage® and surround yourself
with an atmosphere that only an ex Classic Liner can provide! All
the unique qualities that these ships are able to offer may be
forever in the years ahead, however, I do know that some of the
ships in this feature are scheduled to sail in 2012/13!
Each of the ships listed on Classic Ocean
Voyages® are well worth taking a cruise on and should you
require further details or booking information, I have contact
details listed with each ship.

MV Princess Daphne is a deep hull classic
cruise ship and this fine ship was designed for long distance
ocean cruising. From countless reviews, it is obvious that she
has been very popular amongst the British and other markets in
the Northern Hemisphere and I am assured knowing this ship so
well that she will be a massive hit with Australians! One of the
reasons for her popularity is due to her being a medium to small
sized cruise ship, especially by todays standards, thus,
unlike the majority of todays massive cruise ships, instead
of cruising with a crowd, on some ships up to 6,000 passengers,
whilst on Princess Daphne you will never have more than 592
fellow guests on board, thus soon you will become part of the
Princess Daphne family, where you will discover a warm and an
intimate atmosphere, whilst Classic International
Cruises will provide that traditional old fashioned
European style of service.

This amazing 1965 built Yugoslavian ship was built as the modern MS Istra and was obtained by Classic International Cruises in 2000 after she had been completely been internally rebuilt and refitted into an intimate yacht-like cruise ship that exudes ambience, style, charm and grace that can only be found on ships of her size.
