Page Two ~ Deck Plans

On Page One you will have read the history and details of these two wonderful and rather futuristic ships considering they were completed in the early 1950s, but it is now time for you to discover their interior layout. Sadly these deck plans do not show Bride Deck, however, I believe that the description, delivered in the M/S Blenheim section does, well - say it all!

M/S Braemar (I) 1953 - Deck Plan

As you will peruse the M/S Braemar’s Deck Plan, you will note that her cabin arrangement is slightly different from her sister. She like her sister also has First Class cabins forward on C Deck, but unlike the Blenheim, the Braemar has Second Class Cabins located aft on C Deck as well. This is because of lesser numbers of cabins on the higher decks, thus making up the numbers of 100 passengers in First Class, and 130 in Second Class. And of course the 36 ‘Group Accommodation’ all male passengers, completely separated far forward on A deck.

Another fine photograph of M/S Blenheim, a ship that was stylish and well ahead of the times

I watched them come, I watched them go, and I watched them die.”
