RMS Llanstephan 1948 Interiors

A fine aerial photograph of the just completed RMS Llanstephan Castle

Photograph was originally taken by “SkyFotos” but is part of the author’s private collection since 1966

The following came from a more extensive brochure covering all of the companies post WW2 ship and 4each ship had 2 pages. Of course The Llandovery Castle was tragically lost in 1918, but the RMS Llanstephan Castle thankfully survived both wars.

Originally she was built as a Three Class Liner, However in 1947 she was completely refitted and she became a Two Class ship accommodating 234-First Class & 198-Tourist Class passengers and she returned to her last service, being the “Around Africa” service.

The Brochure was sadly printed in black & White, but it does provide an excellent view of her interiors, Enjoy! SkyFotos

I watched them come, I watched them go and I watched them die.”
