Part Two – Page Two

?MS Achille Lauro Deck Plans

Please Note: If you reached this page via a search engine and wish to discover more about the MS Achille Lauro, or her former life as the MS Willem Ruys, please see the Index at the bottom of the page.

On this page you will see two Deck plans, the first is one hails from her Two Class days, be it her Liner or early Cruise Days, the Second is a plan taken from the 1991/92 Australian Cruise brochure, being a One Class version, but using her full capacity of 1,343 passengers, utilising all berths onboard. However, in Europe she would normally be operating with only 800 passengers.

You will also note that the highest deck shown on these plans is Lido deck; however there is also Sport/Sun Decks. These are separated by the original oval First Class swimming pool, but I will place a photograph below where we can see these decks!

From this fine stern view we can clearly see Sport Deck, which is fully netted and raised like a roof. Then comes the Oval Pool

down on Lido Deck and up on the same level as Sport Deck, aft of the superstructure is Sun Deck, although it is just out of sight.

This wonderful photograph of the Achille Lauro was taken in Sydney on January 9, 1992 by & ? Peter Dixon

It is important to note that both plans on this page are small versions; the larger versions may be accessed by clicking on each plan and a new page will open with the new large plan. Although, once it opens, it may at first reduce, just click on the new image and it will expand to it actual full size!
