The 22,909 MS
Regal Empress is a distinguished classic passenger liner that offers a
traditional cruise experience. Today, she continues to compete with the giant
ships of the 21st century, and does so with great success, being one
of the highest earning cruise ships based in Florida.
Regal Empress was built in 1953 as the Greek Atlantic Liner TSS Olympia. Except for a few large Ocean Liners in
those days, a 23,000 ton Liner was considered to be a large ship. Today she is
considered as being a small ship. However, Regal Empress gives the cruise
vacationer a unique ocean going experience on this genuine ocean liner. This is
a ship that as many traditional shipboard features, including a superb décor
that has a touch of yesteryear, yet this is combined with the very latest in
marine technology! Public Rooms and hallways contain some of the best timber
features found on any ship today. Cabins are traditional, but all offer private
bathrooms and every possible comfort. Regal Empress has vast teak deck spaces,
enough room for various sports and pool. Obviously, the Regal Empress can never
offer the 5 star facilities found on the giant cruise ships of these days, but,
she offers an experience these ships cannot offer.
Imperial Majesty Cruises offer two night mini cruises to Nassau, and have been
operating this service for many years with great success. ssMaritime has
received countless emails from past passengers complimenting IMC Cruises, for their service, food, entertainment
and the overall ship board experience on board this fine Classic liner.
All photographs below, were taken by our good friend and supporter of
our “Save The Classic Liner Campaign” Mr. Michael Barnes of Canberra Australia.
We thank him for providing them!
