“Re-launch the Queen Mary”
The
Great Queen departs Southampton for the very
last time on October
31, 1967. This final voyage had been marketed by “Furgazy Travel” as “The Last Great
Cruise” being a 39 night cruise. SS Queen Mary (no longer being a Royal Mail Ship)
departed with 1,093 passengers on board. This voyage made a handsome profit of
around US$125,000. She arrived at Long Beach FL., USA on December 9.
